The Jigawa State Taskforce on Petroleum Products revealed that it resolved to sanction filling stations discovered to be involved in manipulating their fuel dispensers to short-change unsuspecting customers.

The Chairman of the Taskforce, Colonel Muhd Alhassan, sounded this warning while inspecting fuel stations in Dutse and its environs.

Alhassan added that, aside from examining liter gauges, the Taskforce is equally checkmating the activities of hoarders and diverters of petroleum products, emphasizing that stringent action will also be taken against them.

Accordingly, during the routine inspection, Colonel Alhassan directed members of the Taskforce to use Fuel Gauge Sticks to measure the availability or otherwise of petroleum products at the inspected petrol stations that are not dispensing to ensure they did not hoard the product.

He assured residents of the State that the committee will not relent in ensuring seamless supply and sales of the petroleum product to customers across nooks and crannies of the state with accurate liter calibration in conformity with the standard best practices
