A Kano State High Court sitting at Miller Road, presided over by Justice Fatima Adamu, has sentenced Aliyu Usaini Sheka and Amir Zakariyya Shamaki to death by hanging after finding them guilty of robbery and murder.
They were initially arraigned on charges of conspiracy to commit a crime, robbery and murder.
At today’s court session, the prosecution and public prosecutor, Barrister Lamido Abba Sorandinki, presented three witnesses while the defendants defended themselves.
After considering the evidence and evidence, the court found them guilty and sentenced them to five years imprisonment for conspiracy to commit a crime, ten years for robbery and death by hanging for murder.
Reports indicate that the convicts killed a staff member of the North West University after robbing him of his phone on June 11, 2025.
