The Jigawa State chapter of the National Youth Parliament has unanimously called on the former Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, Alhaji Muhammad Babandede, to align with the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The call was made during a well-attended sensitisation rally held in Dutse, where the youth leaders stressed the need for credible, experienced and reform-minded leadership to deepen democratic governance in Jigawa State and across Nigeria.
Addressing participants at the rally, the Coordinator of the National Youth Parliament in Jigawa State, Adamu Suleiman, highlighted Babandede’s national stature, extensive security background and record of integrity, describing him as a strategic asset capable of advancing the ADC’s vision of transparent, people-oriented and secure governance.
According to the youth group, Babandede’s possible entry into the ADC would not only strengthen the party’s credibility but also expand its national appeal and inspire confidence among young people, professionals, minority groups and security-conscious citizens in the state.
They reaffirmed that the ADC remains a progressive political platform committed to inclusive politics, institutional reforms and sustainable national development, adding that the party’s ideology aligns with the aspirations of Nigerian youths.
The rally, which was conducted peacefully, formed part of ongoing efforts to mobilise citizens, promote issue-based political participation and strengthen democratic consciousness at the grassroots level.
The National Youth Parliament further reaffirmed its commitment to peaceful advocacy and principled politics, pledging continued support for leaders who prioritise national unity, citizens’ welfare and the future of Nigeria, while also promoting the ADC’s “Rig and Die” policy slogan.
