The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa State has called on its members and other political stakeholders to strengthen unity, cohesion and effective engagement across all divides in order to deepen democratic gains and improve governance in the state.
The call was made by the Jigawa State Secretary of the party, Mallam Muhammad Dikuma Umar, while addressing party members in Dutse.
He said unity and effective communication within the party remain critical to achieving excellence in politics and improving performance across key sectors for the benefit of citizens.
Mallam Dikuma Umar urged individuals and groups within the party to contribute their best efforts towards making the APC and Jigawa State dependable platforms for sustained democratic development.
According to him, collective responsibility and active participation are essential for the growth and stability of both the party and the state.
He further called on all APC members, particularly those who have attained the age of 18, to ensure they obtain their Voter Registration Cards (VRC) through the ongoing electronic registration exercise.
He explained that voter registration is vital for members who wish to exercise their rights to vote and be voted for, noting that the party values the contributions of both new and old members.
The APC scribe also advised members who have challenges with their voter cards to take advantage of the current registration window to correct and update their details, stressing that accurate records would enable them to contribute more effectively to party activities and governance.
In addition, Mallam Dikuma Umar urged party members, regardless of gender or location, to renew their APC membership through the party’s e-registration portal.
He emphasized that all members enjoy equal rights and responsibilities in supporting the successful implementation of the 12-Point Agenda of Governor Malam Dr. Umar Namadi, which he said aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
He described the 12-Point Agenda as an inclusive development framework designed to promote economic growth, democratic freedom and opportunities for all residents of Jigawa State, while also complementing national development goals.
The APC secretary further called on individuals and groups to seek a clear understanding of the new national tax law, noting that awareness of its provisions would enable citizens to better understand their roles and responsibilities.
He also stressed the need for continued support for security agencies to ensure peace, stability and harmony across Jigawa State, adding that such cooperation would complement government efforts to improve living conditions and overall wellbeing.
Mallam Muhammad Dikuma Umar reaffirmed that the APC and the Jigawa State Government remain committed to inclusive, strategic and proactive leadership aimed at driving sustainable development and progress in the state.
