In a significant humanitarian effort, the federal government of Nigerian through National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), has successfully received 150 Nigerian returnees from Agadez, Niger Republic.
The returnees, comprising 88 adult males, 32 adult females, 14 male children, and 16 female children, arrived safely at the Aminu Kano International Airport on Thursday, October 23, 2025.
Upon arrival, officials from the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) conducted biometric registration and proper documentation to ensure accurate records and smooth reintegration into the country. The returnees were then taken to Bizare Hotel luxury apartment for accommodation and profiling.
The Federal Government provided essential services, including food, potable water, medical care, and luggage handling, to ensure a seamless transition. This gesture underscores the government’s commitment to the safe, dignified, and humane return of its citizens.
The successful reception is a testament to the collaborative efforts of NEMA, IOM, NCFRMI, and other stakeholders, who worked tirelessly to ensure the dignity and welfare of the returnees. As the returnees settle back into their communities, the government and its partners will continue to provide support and assistance to facilitate their reintegration.
