Jigawa CP Tasks Prosecutors on Professionalism, Integrity

The Commissioner of Police, Jigawa State Command, CP Dahiru Muhammad, has charged police prosecutors to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and integrity in the discharge of their duties. He made this call during a lecture to prosecutors at the CP AT Abdullahi Conference Hall, State Headquarters, Dutse.

SP Lawan Shiisu Adam the command’s Public Relations Officer in a statement said the C.P. emphasized the importance of discipline, integrity, and ethical conduct in prosecutorial duties, warning against compromise, bribery, and any act capable of tarnishing the image of the Force. He stressed that prosecutors’ work reflects the credibility of the entire criminal justice system.

According to Shiisu, CP Muhammad highlighted the need for comprehensive and well-documented case files, close liaison with Investigating Police Officers (IPOs), and regular reviews of case files to ensure effective case presentation. He also emphasized the significance of court attendance, diligent prosecution, and timely presentation of witnesses and exhibits.

In a separate development, the Jigawa State Police Command has arrested 105 suspects for drug dealing, recovering over 5,000 illicit drugs and substances, including cannabis, tramadol, and other intoxicants. The command also recovered ₦92,460 in cash and other items.

The suspects were arrested during a simultaneous raid across all nooks and crannies in Jigawa State. The recovered items include:  Exol: 2,541, D-5: 1,146,Tramadol: 270, Cannabis: 1 block, 1,042 wraps, Diazepam: 10, Rubber solution: 53, Suck and die: 3, Farin Malam: 82, Vegakris: 72, Pregabalin: 153, Life can: 48, Calidon’s: 80, Diaxer: 269, Hard drugs: 85, Biagra: 96, Dry gin: 12, Embazol: 22, Ridcol: 3, and Cash: ₦92,460.

The Jigawa State Police Command’s efforts demonstrate its commitment to maintaining law and order, protecting citizens, and upholding justice.

The lecture is part of ongoing efforts by the Jigawa State Police Command to strengthen institutional capacity, enhance court performance, and sustain public confidence in the justice system.
