The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has urged the Nigeria Immigration Service to provide seamless and efficient screening services for intending pilgrims ahead of the 2026 Hajj exercise.
The Director General of the Board, Alhaji Ahmad Umar Labbo, made the appeal during a strategic meeting with the State Comptroller of Immigration at the Board’s headquarters.
The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration and enhancing security arrangements to ensure a hitch-free 2026 Hajj operation.

Labbo emphasized the need for the deployment of modern and efficient screening equipment at the airport to facilitate faster clearance of pilgrims, reduce delays, and guarantee timely boarding for flights to Saudi Arabia.
He noted that a smooth screening process would significantly ease the stress often experienced by pilgrims during departure formalities.
The Director General also called on all security agencies to intensify cooperation in safeguarding the lives and property of pilgrims, from the Hajj camp through transit to the airport and eventual departure to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
He expressed appreciation for the consistent support and synergy among security agencies in previous operations and expressed optimism for another successful Hajj exercise in 2026.
In response, the security agencies assured the Board of their full support and commitment to ensuring maximum security and the well-being of all Jigawa pilgrims throughout the operation.
