In a bid to promote a clean and healthy environment, the Kaugama Local Government Council has carried out its monthly end-of-the-month environmental sanitation exercise across the area.
Speaking during the exercise, the Chairman of the Council, Honourable Usman Masaki Dansule, said the local government remains committed to sustaining the monthly sanitation programme to ensure a cleaner and more conducive environment for residents.
He noted that all necessary logistics were made available to cover filthy and neglected areas, stressing that the exercise was aimed at improving environmental hygiene and public health.

The Special Adviser on Water and Sanitation to the Chairman, Muhammad Garba, disclosed that the council provided essential working materials to facilitate the exercise.
According to him, the items supplied included wheelbarrows, tricycles, brooms, spades, forks and other tools used for clearing drainages and culverts, as well as evacuating refuse from the community.
Areas covered during the sanitation exercise included markets, major streets, drainages and culverts, the local government secretariat, motor parks, hospitals and other sensitive locations.
In his remarks, the State Chairman of the Central Working Committee, Muhammad Aliyu Danyayi, described the exercise as a huge success in Kaugama and the state at large.
He commended the efforts of community-based organisations and residents for their active participation, noting that their involvement greatly contributed to the eradication of filthy areas.
