The Network of Jigawa Civil Society Organization (NetJect) has commended the Executive Governor of Jigawa State, His Excellency Malam Dr. Umar Namadi Danmodi, for the recent appointment of 82 Special Assistants across various ministries, departments and parastatals in Jigawa State.
The commendation was contained in a statement signed by the Gender officer of the organization, Nafisa Halliru Haruna, who described the appointments as a positive step toward strengthening service delivery and promoting effective governance in the state.
According to her, the move aligns with Governor Namadi’s 12-Point Agenda, which prioritizes youth empowerment, women inclusion and the protection of the rights and welfare of persons with disabilities (PWDs).
Nafisa Halliru Haruna noted that inclusive governance remains key to sustainable social and economic development, stressing that women, youths and persons with disabilities have critical roles to play in policy formulation and implementation.
While applauding the governor’s action, the Netject Gender officer called on the state government to sustain the spirit of inclusiveness and ensure gender balance and wider representation of vulnerable groups in future appointments, in line with global best practices.
She expressed optimism that Governor Namadi’s administration would continue to deepen good governance and accelerate development across Jigawa State through policies that promote equity, participation and social justice.
