A member of the Jigawa State House of Assembly representing Buji Local Government Area, Hon. Saleh Baba Buji, has called on pilgrims from the state currently performing the 2026 Hajj in Saudi Arabia to intensify prayers for lasting peace and stability in Jigawa State and Nigeria as a whole ahead of the Day of Arafat.
Hon. Buji made the call while speaking with Trust Times at the Minna Hajj Camp in Saudi Arabia during preparations for the Arafat exercise, one of the most significant rites of the annual pilgrimage.
The lawmaker emphasized the importance of prayers at this critical moment, noting that the Day of Arafat offers a unique opportunity for Muslims to seek Allah’s intervention in addressing challenges facing society, especially insecurity and economic hardship.
He urged the pilgrims to use the sacred period to pray for unity, peaceful coexistence, and continued progress in Jigawa State and across Nigeria.
Buji also commended the Jigawa State Government under the leadership of Governor Malam Dr. Umar Namadi and the state’s pilgrims welfare board for their commitment towards the welfare of pilgrims throughout the Hajj exercise.
According to him, the arrangements put in place for pilgrims from the state in Madinah, Makkah, and Mina were highly commendable and reflected the government’s dedication to ensuring the comfort and safety of the pilgrims.
“As a representative of the state here in Saudi Arabia, I have personally observed the situation of our pilgrims in Madinah, Makkah, and Mina, and I can confidently say that the welfare arrangements are very impressive,” he stated.
The lawmaker praised Governor Umar Namadi for what he described as visionary leadership and commitment to the development of Jigawa State.
He noted that the governor’s administration has continued to implement people-oriented policies aimed at improving the living conditions of citizens and promoting peace and development across the state.
Hon. Saleh Baba Buji further prayed for Allah’s guidance and continued success for Governor Umar Namadi in his efforts to move the state to greater heights.
He also expressed hope that Jigawa State would continue to enjoy peace, unity, and harmony among its people.
The Day of Arafat, regarded as the peak of the Hajj pilgrimage, is expected to attract millions of pilgrims from across the world, including thousands from Nigeria currently in Saudi Arabia for the spiritual exercise.
